30. Philippines @ Palawan - Puerto Pricesa

Then we came to the island of Palawan and the little city of Puerto Princesa.

The city is not the biggest, but in Philippine standard it is huge... :) The city has about 300.000 inhabitants and is declared the cleanest and greenest city in Philippines. The city even has an international airport.

When we docked in the port it was evening and it rained a bit. We took a tuk tuk (local scooter with a side seat for us and the bags)to the hotel and went to sleep.

The morning after we had sunshine again and we went for a little city walk. This is the monument in the harbor.

Markus and the harbor.

We found The city of Puerto Princesa much nicer than Manila, but that is not hard considering that Manila is worst city we have ever been in.

The Immaculate Conception Cathedral. We only saw the Cathedral from the outside because the church was busy and there was a lot of people.

The Immaculate Conception Cathedral in the background and the Rizal park with the monument in the front. The monument is of Jose Rizal the man who became a hero under the revolution.

After only a couple of days in Puerto Princesa we went further north to an underground river.
